Madison's Rock n Roll Show Band!
It all started around 1972 in Madison, WI, USA. University of Wisconsin college student Dave Dill had assembled musicians into a band called Zapata (honoring Mexican revolutionary Emilio Zapata). The band played college bars and dances featuring the music of Carol King, Blood Sweat and Tears, and even Frank Zappa.
A booking agent persuaded Dave and the band to learn Rockin' Robin, grease back their hair, and dress in matching 50's tuxedos for a show set. Crowds went nuts for the show. Before long the band renamed itself Ziggy and the ZEU (Zapata Enterprises Unlimited).
Some 40 years later the ZEU returns to play the great music of the 50's & 60's.
